Thermelaphy is to rethinking the way architecture providing happiness based on the notion of “self retreat”. Starting from the scientific of how do we feel happiness, The focal point of this project is to use architecture element as the signal sender to transfer happiness energy via spaces using human sense as the receptor to receive the happiness signal. The first phase of the project is to explore a relationship between architecture elements and human senses.
architecture element > space > human sense > brain > happiness
Thermelaphy is a public bath house setting at Lumpini park, large green space in between the rapidly expanding growth of the cities. Each space has been built up from different selected architecture element eg; skin material, light condition, acoustic and form to serve the notion of different space will have the different function of healing but all to perform both physical and mental happiness.
The project is also including the rebuilt public space. From the site context, the aim of the project is to provide forest-like relaxing public space but not distract surrounding. The organic wrapping structure is logically designed to function as the roof shading, facade and holding structure which connecting fluidly.
