Mapping Happiness: Yaowarat

Yaowarat

Yaowarat is an old China Town in Bangkok. It is very crowed through out the year. It is an old town that has clear urban planning along the road. Big shop houses are placed along the main Yaowarat road and smaller scale shop-houses are inside small Sois. Many shops try to get its attention and defining their spaces by using advertisement plates and putting objects like tables and big umbrellas to expand their space. Through this expansion of shop spaces, it creates a community where people gather to enjoy the street food.
