Phase 2: Performing Happiness: WARP, Pim Toeywattanachai

Warp
When people go relaxing at some chill-out pub, there is a stage of being warp or the period you don’t recognize what you are doing and suddenly, when you realised, you are in the different place and time already.

Possible Factors: Alcohol, Drugs,  and Atmosphere

In this project, I want to use only different sets of atmospheres along with architectures to give this specific drunken feeling to the non-alcohol people. Enhancing all the sensations including …

- Sight: Confusion by the contrast of Scale, Color, Lighting, Shape, Pattern, Material and Mirror in different spaces
- Hearing: Confusion by the contrast of Music (beats and volume), and Echo in different spaces
- Smell: Confusion by the contrast of scent in different spaces
- Touch: Confusion by the contrast of Temperature, Moisture Level, Wind, and Texture in different spaces

… would possibly make a non-alcohol person dizzy and enjoy this new experience.

This place seems to be legal and innocent comparing to usual pubs, however, the real illegal drug place is hidden inside this fake atmosphere. All of these fake things would force people’s minds to think that everything is not real so the customers would not notice that a tipsy person is actually using real drugs. The entrance of the secret rooms is hidden by the fake perspective and parts of the rooms are overlapping with the legal zones creating distortion which is one tool for the fake drunk. Therefore, "Warp” performs happiness to all kinds of customers by using the contrast of the zones in this tunnel-like space that could really build them up to drunken or Warp feeling while walking throughout the pub area.
